Traditional floral

This small window is at the end of a long hallway that runs the width of this early 20th century bungalow. Much of this house is glazed with glass that has purpled over time, in a process known as solarising, which occurs as a result of the inclusion of manganese during manufacture.

The client elected for me to re-use a small amount of the purple glass in the new panel to keep a link with the past and the rest of the glazing. A fair bit more light comes through now and there’s a focal point at the end of their hallway.
